The winners of the 2014 Taurus World Stunt Awards were announced on Saturday, May 10, 2014 during a presentation at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, California. Stunt men and women from around the world honored their peers for a year of outstanding work in feature films.

The film Iron Man 3 won 3 awards during the night, taking home Taurus awards in the Best Stunt Rigging, Best Specialty Stunt, and Best High Work categories. The wins were for work in a skydiving sequence in which Iron Man rescues passengers that were sucked out of an airplane. The film Lone Survivor took home the award for Hardest Hit. The film recreated the real life retreat and fall of cornered Navy SEALs, with 4 stuntmen falling down the side of a cliff. A car chase in the busy streets of Moscow from the film A Good Day to Die Hard won the Taurus award for Best Work with a Vehicle.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Buddy Joe Hooker, a prolific stuntman and actor who got his start in Hollywood as a child actor, most notably as Chester Anderson, friend to Wally Cleaver on Leave it to Beaver. Transitioning into stunts, he worked regularly as a stuntman and stunt coordinator. He is responsible for some of the most memorable vehicle stunts from films like Hooper, White Lightening, Jade, and Death Proof. He is also a sought-after stunt coordinator, having coordinated films such as The Outsiders, Rumblefish, Meet Joe Black, and Godfather Part III.

It is our pleasure to congratulate the 2014 Taurus World Stunt Awards winners!
