Ethan Hunt chases a helicopter as it takes off and grabs a long rope that carries the cargo load the helicopter is transporting. While the helicopter is in mid-flight, he climbs up the rope, falls back to the hanging cargo, climbs back up the line, and into the helicopter. A custom rig was created to fit a helicopter in flight to execute this scene.
